The Seam Between
Written in free time, from: Creative writing
The drawer hummed with an unseen current. Each missing sock seemed to vibrate at the edge of a mirror that had been cracked long ago, and I reached into the fissure, feeling the weight of moments that never came back. I imagined pulling a thread from the void, watching it unspool like a whispered story, and stepping through the seam where time folds. In that thin space, the scent of cotton lingered, and the silence sang with the echo of laughter, footsteps, and the soft thud of a heart learning to let go. I walked not into anything known, but into the quiet possibility that something beautiful had slipped out through that crack.
