The Tide's Erasure
Written in free time, from: Creative writing
A sigil carved into the cliff face, meant to ward the harbor, begins to soften under the constant kiss of salt spray. Each wave lifts a micron of stone, carrying the ancient lines back into the sea. The fishermen watch, not with alarm but with a quiet recognition, as the protective mark blurs into the rock’s natural grain. By morning the symbol is no longer a deliberate sign, yet the water still parts where it once lay, as if the sea remembers the intention more firmly than the stone.
