The Watch's Seam
Written in free time, from: Creative writing
A pocket watch, cold in the palm, not just telling hours but holding them— each tick a seam where past and present brush against each other like silk. Open it, and you don't see gears alone but the ghost of a hand that wound it last Tuesday, the warmth of a pocket that carried it through a rainstorm, the second it stopped when news arrived. Time isn't a line here but a fabric, and the watch is where the threads fray, letting you feel, for a breath, the weight of another moment pressed against your own.
