The Whisper of Things
Written in free time, from: Creative writing
In the quiet kitchen after midnight, the chipped blue mug sighed against the ceramic shelf, remembering the warmth of hands that had long since gone. The wooden chair, its legs worn smooth by years of shifting weight, creaked a reply: "You still hold the echo of her laughter." The windowpane, cool and transparent, vibrated with the faint hum of distant traffic, translating it into a language of light: each flicker a word, each shadow a pause. Together they spoke in a dialect of use and wear, a conversation that never reached human ears but held the house together like invisible stitches.
