Whisper in the Margin
Written in free time, from: Creative writing
In the quiet of the page, a breath stirs— not mine, yet familiar, like the hush before dawn. It slips between the lines, a faint ink-smudge, guiding the pen where doubt would stall.
I do not see its face, nor hear its voice, but feel its pressure, a gentle nudge against the curve of a letter, the weight of a period that wants to be placed just so.
We work together, unseen and silent, two hands sharing one tool: the writer’s trust. When I pause, it waits; when I rush, it steadies. The audience is not out there—it is here, in the margin, collaborating in the making.
