Echoes in the Attic
Written in free time, from: Creative writing
In the attic, shadows gathered like whispered confessions, each trinket a vessel for what had never been spoken aloud. I traced my fingers over a cracked porcelain doll, feeling the faint tremor of a sigh that no one had ever uttered, and watched as the dust motes turned into tiny lanterns of unsaid stories. The air hummed with a low frequency, as if the very rafters were recording the gaps between words, preserving them in a living archive that breathed with the house's own rhythm. When I finally lifted the heavy trunk at the far wall, a cascade of folded letters fluttered out, each one sealed with wax and addressed to an audience that never existed.
