Silence in the Forest
Written in free time, from: Creative writing
Silence sits on a mossy log at dawn, ears tuned to the forest's breath. It hears the dew fall from leaf to leaf, the distant call of a bird testing the morning, the slow unfurling of a fern. Silence does not judge these sounds; it simply holds them, like a cup holding water, until the light grows strong enough to carry them away. When the sun climbs high, silence rises too, not gone, but folded into the green, waiting for the next quiet hour.
