The Archive of Quiet
Written in free time, from: Creative writing
In an empty room, silence settles like dust on a shelf, each particle a memory waiting to be disturbed. It remembers the weight of absence, the shape of a breath that never came, and holds it until a footstep cracks the stillness.
In a crowded hall, silence is a stitch between voices, a thin seam where words almost touch but never do. It remembers the tremor of a laugh caught mid-air, the sigh that slipped behind a shoulder, and frays under the press of bodies, each memory overlapping like translucent paper.
Thus silence is not empty; it is a scribe, writing in different ink depending on the crowd.
