The Collector's Vault
Written in free time, from: Creative writing
A woman collects moments like seashells, each one polished by longing. She smiles at a child's laugh, then tucks it away in velvet. She hears a lover's promise, folds it into silk. Years pass, her vault grows heavy with the weight of kept things. One day she reaches for a new joy—a sunset, a stranger's kindness—and finds her hands empty, the vault locked from within. She had forgotten to leave space for the living breath of now; her hoard of happiness had become a mausoleum.
