Thresholds in Stillness
Written in free time, from: Creative writing
In the garden of a conversation I once tended, a single petal fell, landing on a smooth stone that had never known weight. That stone became a threshold — neither fully solid nor airy, but a point where one could step without breaking the silence that held it together. I thought about how relationships, too, are made of such thresholds: the breath held before a confession, the pause between laughter and tears, the space where understanding slips through unnoticed until it becomes a bridge.
