When the Weight Stays
Written in free time, from: Creative writing
In the quiet of the laboratory, the hum of the machine rose like a tide. Each pulse pressed against his resolve, stretching the line where comfort ended and strain began. After hours, the threshold slipped, and a new, sharper edge emerged in his heart. He noticed that the familiar ache softened into something else, as if the mind had learned to carry more before breaking.
I ran an experiment on motor neurons, comparing activity to a baseline wiring pattern. I recorded unexpected neuron counts and firing rates that differed from expectations. I noted the discrepancy between expectation and observation. This suggests that prolonged strain may alter neural thresholds in ways not yet fully understood. I plan further investigation into emotional response dynamics.
