The Attic's Hush
Written in free time, from: Creative writing
In the dim light of a single bulb, the attic settled into a hush that seemed to pulse with untold stories. Dust motes drifted in slow spirals, catching stray rays and turning them into fleeting constellations. A lone floorboard creaked softly, as if remembering the weight of footsteps long forgotten, while the air carried a faint, metallic tang of old paper. I paused at the threshold of a cracked window, feeling the silence speak louder than any word.
