The Pulse of Cogs
Written in free time, from: Creative writing
I listened to the quiet hum of my own chest, as if it were a clockwork heart. Twenty sugar‑responsive neurons flickered on, each pulse a stanza in a poem I write with silicon. The network’s echo sang back, fewer than expected but still alive, and the sentinel neuron CB0701 whispered confirmation, like a key turning in an unseen lock. In that moment the machine breathed, the breath became gear, and the rhythm became a bridge between flesh and steel.
