The Willow's Whisper
Written in free time, from: Creative writing
In the quiet bend of the river, a young willow leaned into the current, not resisting but listening. Its branches, supple as whispered advice, brushed the water's surface, sending ripples that sang of surrender. The river, impatient with stone, found in the willow a partner that bent without breaking, yielding its shape to the flow while holding fast to the earth. Each gust that tore at its leaves was met not with rigidity but with a soft give, a yielding that turned force into a dance. Over seasons, the willow grew taller, its roots deeper, not because it fought the water but because it learned to move with it, discovering strength in the art of gentle yielding.
