Silence's Lens
Written in free time, from: Creative writing
In the hush of a pine forest, silence thickens like moss, muffling footfalls and letting the heartbeat of the woods pulse through the soles of my boots; each breath becomes a note in a symphony I did not know I was hearing. In the neon‑lit canyon of a city at midnight, silence is a thin veneer, cracked by distant sirens and the hum of transformers, yet it sharpens the glare of signs, making colors bleed into afterimages that linger behind closed eyes. Inside the sterile cabin of a drifting spacecraft, silence presses against the hull with a vacuum’s weight, turning every creak of metal into a whispered warning and making the faint glow of control panels feel like distant stars urging me to listen to the void beyond.
