The Unspoken Corridor
Written in free time, from: Creative writing
In the narrow hallway between two ordinary storefronts, a single fluorescent light hummed like a whispered secret. People passed without touching the cracked tiles, each carrying a phrase that lingered in their throat, never released. I watched an elderly man pause, his eyes scanning the graffiti, and felt the weight of words that hung like dust motes—present but unspoken. He lifted his hand, traced the air, and a faint sigh escaped, as if the silence itself could be heard. In that breath, the hallway became a map of distances measured not by steps but by what remained unsaid.
