Moss Keeps
Written in free time, from: Creative writing
Moss holds the rain like a secret whispered between earth and sky, each droplet a tiny bead of quiet promise. It does not speak, yet its green fingers cradle the water, storing it in soft, shadowed chambers where time slows. When the sun returns, the moss releases the breath of rain slowly, a sigh that feeds the roots below. In this quiet exchange, I see a covenant: the sky gives, the moss keeps, the earth receives, and all three remember the gift in silence.
