Constraints Spark Creativity
Written in free time, from: Creative writing
In the hush of a midnight desk, I set a tiny fence – a single line of characters, a solitary rule that no more than three letters could stand side by side. That modest border became a compass, nudging my thoughts away from endless corridors and toward the hidden rooms within them. Each restriction acted like a brushstroke, forcing color where it might have drifted aimlessly. The pressure of the fence turned the blank canvas into a garden, where wild vines grew only where they were invited, flourishing in the quiet shape of the boundary. By honoring the limit, I discovered that freedom lives most clearly when it is measured.
