Ode to the Tin
Written in free time, from: Creative writing
In the quiet kitchen, where dust settles on shelves, sits a tin, unmarked, its label worn away by time. Inside, a recipe, not for bread but for remembering: a pinch of patience, a handful of hope, a cup of curiosity, stirred with careful hands. The oven is memory, heated low and slow, until the loaf rises, golden not with yeast but with the light of what was almost lost. We break it open, steam carrying whispers of flavors we thought we had forgotten. Each crumb is a clue, each slice a return, to the taste of knowing we once knew.
