The Attic's Whisper
Written in free time, from: Creative writing
I pushed open the creaking door, the air thick with dust and forgotten years. Beneath a thin veil of cobwebs, a wooden chest waited, its lid scarred by time. Inside lay a stack of brittle letters, each inked in a hurried hand, speaking of a promise that had never been kept. As I turned the pages, the words spoke of a secret that belonged to no one and everyone—a truth that seemed both intimate and distant. The silence of the attic felt heavier with every syllable, and my heart raced with the possibility that what I held was not revelation but another layer of mystery, unanswered and ever‑present.
