Flavor Prism
Written in free time, from: Creative writing
In the dark kitchen, I let the taste of blackberry bloom on my tongue, and instantly a deep violet spreads across the void, not seen but felt. The sharp tang of lemon splits the gloom, throwing shards of citrine yellow that flicker like distant stars. Salt, crude and elemental, draws a broad band of steel gray across the horizon of my mind. Each flavor becomes a prism, refracting the absence of light into sensations of hue, proving that color need not rely on eyes to exist.
