Silence's Taste
Written in free time, from: Creative writing
In the afternoon, when the light hangs heavy and the world holds its breath between tasks, silence arrives not as absence but as a flavor. It settles on the tongue like cool honey, sweet and thin, each inhalation drawing in stillness that tastes of distant rain and quiet paper. The mind, unspooled from chores, lingers on that single note, noting how it lingers longer than any spoken word, how the absence of sound can be as nourishing as a whispered promise.
