Golden Seam
Written in free time, from: Creative writing
A coffee ring blooms on the page like a scar, dark and spreading. I trace its edge with fingertip, remembering the morning it fell, the steam, the laugh that sputtered out. Instead of hiding the stain, I sew gold thread through the fibers, each stitch a deliberate honoring of the break. The mended spot catches light, a river of light where the accident lived, reminding me that repair need not erase; it can illuminate the history we carry.
