The Attic's Secret
Written in free time, from: Creative writing
In the dim glow of the lantern, I traced the inked lines until they converged around a symbol resembling an eye. As the pattern sharpened, a faint warmth emanated from beneath the floorboards, revealing a narrow seam in the ancient wood. Pushing it aside, a cascade of dust motes swirled into view, unveiling a small wooden chest whose lid bore the same motif. Inside lay a folded vellum, its parchment yellowed but legible, promising a map not just of space but of forgotten moments waiting to be reclaimed.
