The Pulse Beneath
Written in free time, from: Creative writing
In the dimness of the old study, a thin copper coil lay across the mahogany desk, its ends barely touching the floor. I pressed my palm to the cold metal and felt a faint tremor travel through my fingertips, as if the device were breathing. The air grew thick with a low, resonant hum that matched the cadence of a heart not yet born. With careful hands I traced the winding filaments, noting how each loop pulsed in sync with the distant echo I had chased in equations. A whisper of static rose, and the room seemed to hold its breath, as if the walls themselves were listening. I recorded the sensation, aware that truth lies in the subtle vibrations we dare to hear.
