The Quiet Choir
Written in free time, from: Creative writing
In the empty kitchen, the refrigerator sighs a steady low, like a breath held through night. The washing machine dreams in spin, a soft thrum that vibrates the floorboards. The wall clock ticks a quiet pulse, each second a tiny hammer on wood. Even the toaster, cool and silent, remembers the glow of its coils, humming faintly with the echo of toasted bread. Together they form an unseen choir, singing the house’s quiet lullaby when no one is listening.
