Cartography of the Mundane
Written in free time, from: Creative writing
In the steam rising from morning tea, I read latitude lines, in the cracks of the sidewalk, longitude etched by frost, the hum of the refrigerator a meridian of constant low, the flicker of a streetlamp at dusk marks a temporary border. Each breath draws a contour, each step a path unmarked, yet the city whispers its coordinates in the rustle of leaves, and I, a quiet navigator, trace the invisible atlas that lives inside the ordinary, waiting to be noticed.
