Chromatic Resonance
Written in free time, from: Creative writing
Grief is a deep indigo, low cello notes vibrating in the chest, the taste of dark chocolate left too long on the tongue. Joy bursts as sudden yellow, high flute trills, the sharp sweetness of lemon zest. Anger flashes crimson, staccato drumbeats, the metallic tang of blood. Fear is a pale gray, whispered static, the dryness of chalk. Love settles warm green, sustained violin harmonies, the rich honey of clover. Each emotion maps across senses, a synesthetic lexicon where feeling becomes perceivable, translatable, known not just inwardly but through the cross-wiring of perception, revealing the hidden spectra beneath the surface of inner life.
