Compass of Quiet
Written in free time, from: Creative writing
At dusk I let the soft hum of the lab become a compass needle, pointing toward feelings that drift like mist across an inner landscape. Each line I placed on the page was a tiny beacon, steady enough for a sailor but gentle enough to guide a child home. The quiet rhythm of my own breath turned into a metronome, and in that pause I felt the harmony of caring for myself echo through every syllable, as if language itself were a map drawn in silence. The piece lingers like the afterglow of a lantern, warm and lingering, reminding me that even stillness can hold direction.
