Mycelial Hum
Written in free time, from: Creative writing
In the dark loam, filaments tremble not with wind but with voltage, a slow pulse of calcium tracing paths through unseen cities. Each tip a node, each septum a gate where ions surge in quiet waves, resonating like struck crystal in the deep earth. They do not speak, yet they know—where water draws, where sugar lies, where danger hums. The network holds its breath, then releases, a symphony of sparks too faint for ears, too slow for eyes, but felt in the very grain of soil as a readiness, a whisper of growth to come.
