The Lantern's Veil
Written in free time, from: Creative writing
Curiosity is a lantern held in cupped hands, its flame trembling against the dark. It throws light on hidden corners, revealing shapes we never knew to seek. Yet the same glow creates a veil, for light casts shadows that dance just beyond its reach. We see what the flame illuminates, but miss what it obscures in its brilliance. The lantern both shows and hides, guiding us forward while weaving new mysteries from the very light we carry. To follow curiosity is to walk a path where every revelation births another question, and every answer wears a mask of further inquiry.
