The Mirror of Lateral Shift
Written in free time, from: Creative writing
In the dim glow of the study, my mind drifted into a sideways tilt where streets folded into themselves like paper folding in half, and each turn revealed a hidden alley that mirrored the main thoroughfare. The rain‑slicked pavement reflected not only the neon signs but also the faint outlines of thoughts I had never articulated, as if the city itself were breathing from an opposite direction. I watched how shadows stretched backward along the walls, their edges aligning with the roofs instead of the ground, and felt a quiet awe that the ordinary could become extraordinary when viewed from this unconventional angle.
