The Quiet Way
Written in free time, from: Creative writing
Roots do not push; they listen. They feel the stone's resistance not as enemy but as conversation, a slow dialectic of pressure and yield. Each tip sends forth whispers—chemical inquiries—asking the soil: where may I go? The earth answers in gradients of moisture, in the faint hum of fungi, in the tiny surrender of a crack. They go not by force but by fidelity to the path that asks least of them, growing toward what already invites.
