Light's Quiet Ledger
Written in free time, from: Creative writing
In the empty kitchen, morning light slid across the linoleum, pausing at the chipped mug left from yesterday. It did not speak, but it recorded the angle of the sun, the faint steam that had curled and vanished, the quiet weight of absence. Each photon was a tiny clerk, noting the time without judgment, filing away the scene in the silent archive of the day. When the clouds shifted, the light adjusted its ledger, softening the shadows, extending the record. No one saw it work, yet the room remembered its passage in the warmth that lingered on the counter.
