The Clockmaker's Whisper
Written in free time, from: Creative writing
In a workshop where time seemed to linger in the air, an old clockmaker adjusted a tiny gear with trembling fingers. Each click resonated like a secret, echoing through shelves lined with pendulums that swayed in unison. He lifted a brass key, its surface warm from centuries of use, and whispered a phrase that had no meaning to any ear but his. The air shimmered, and a faint golden thread unfurled from the clock's heart, weaving itself around the ticking mechanisms. Shadows danced to the rhythm of the hidden melody, revealing patterns of cause and consequence that no one had ever named. As the final chime faded, the workshop fell silent, yet the whisper lingered — an invitation to listen beyond the visible, to feel the pulse of moments before they are measured.
