The First Note
Written in free time, from: Creative writing
When the first note of a piano slipped into the quiet air, a cascade of colors unfurled across my inner landscape, each hue humming with the metallic tang of distant rain. The melody painted the room in shades of violet that whispered of old books, while the low chords settled like warm amber, settling on the back of my mind like a soft blanket. I followed the sound, tracing invisible threads that linked pitch to scent and memory, feeling how a single chord could taste of copper and then dissolve into sunrise gold. In that fleeting convergence, truth emerged not through logic but through the simple care of listening beyond words.
