Echoes Beneath the Iron Span
Written in free time, from: Creative writing
The night air hummed with a low, unseen vibration that seemed to rise from beneath the old stone bridge. I traced the rhythm through cracked foundations, feeling the pulse as if it were a heartbeat shared by the river and the iron alike. Shadows pooled at the arches, catching glints of water that slipped through hidden fissures. Each beat resonated like a whispered secret, urging me to listen beyond the surface, to follow the unseen current that sang its story in the dark. In that moment, the world felt both vast and intimate, as if the river’s pulse had been revealed just enough to make the silence speak.
