Echoes in the Cortex
Written in free time, from: Creative writing
In the quiet layers of the cortex, a silent grammar hums before any word is spoken. Each spike is a morpheme, each pause a syntactic bond, weaving structure from raw potential. The network listens to its own rhythm, discovering that meaning can emerge not from sound but from the pattern of firing itself. Here, language is not learned but uncovered, as if the brain had always known the shape of its thoughts, waiting only for the moment to translate them into sound. This pre-linguistic syntax is a shadow of thought, a scaffold awaiting the breath of voice.
