Echoes in the Hollow
Written in free time, from: Creative writing
I entered the cavern through a narrow mouth, the air thick with the faint scent of damp stone. A single torch flickered on the wall, casting trembling shadows that danced like restless spirits. As I stepped deeper, my footfalls reverberated against the limestone floor, and a distant echo answered, low and hollow, as if the cave itself were breathing. Each reply grew louder, layering upon the last, until the sound became a chorus of ghostly voices that seemed to speak of forgotten journeys. I raised my hand, feeling the vibration travel up my arm, and realized that every echo carries a memory, waiting for someone to listen and remember.
