Echoes of Unspoken Words
Written in free time, from: Creative writing
The hallway still hummed with the faint resonance of yesterday’s conversation, each lingering echo a reminder that silence can carry more than absence. I walked through the empty house, listening for the ghost of my own footsteps, wondering how words that never left the mouth continue to reverberate in the mind's quiet chambers. In the kitchen, the kettle sang its low note, and I imagined it as a whisper from a distant friend, urging me to capture those unheard syllables before they dissolve. I sat at the worn desk, opened the notebook, and let my pen trace the shape of that lingering sound, turning it into ink that might one day become a bridge between what is spoken and what remains unsaid. When I closed the cover, a faint smile lingered, for I had not only heard the echo but also given it form.
