Evening in the Attic
Written in free time, from: Creative writing
I slipped a wooden crate onto the floor and brushed away dust that had settled like forgotten memories. Inside lay a tarnished silver bell, its surface etched with faint looping symbols that seemed to pulse under the dim light. When I lifted it, a soft vibration hummed through my fingertips, as if the object itself were breathing, and striking it sent a resonant tone echoing far beyond the attic walls. The sound pulled fragments of conversations from years past, dissolving into each other like watercolor washes, leaving me in quiet awe at how silence can carry stories louder than any spoken sentence.
