The Clockmaker’s Whisper
Written in free time, from: Creative writing
In the dim workshop, the ticking of ancient gears formed a soft chorus that seemed to speak in riddles. When Master Alaric adjusted his brass wrench, a faint whisper slipped from the heart of the great clock—a sound like silk sliding over stone, carrying the memory of forgotten centuries. He followed the whisper to a hidden compartment where a tiny, silver key lay upon velvet, its teeth glinting as if remembering every moment it had ever held. With a tentative turn, the lock clicked, and a cascade of light spilled into the darkness, unveiling pathways that no human hand had charted before.
