The Hidden Library Beneath the Clock Tower
Written in free time, from: Creative writing
I slipped through a cracked stone doorway and descended into a vaulted chamber where dust motes danced in shafts of amber light. Ancient shelves rose like cliffs, each laden with scrolls that whispered of forgotten ages. My fingers brushed a bound volume whose cover glowed faintly, revealing a map etched in silver ink. Following the map, I uncovered a sealed chest containing a ledger that detailed the city’s original foundations. The silence and the weight of history left me humbled, and I felt an unexpected surge of confidence in my own capacity for discovery.
