In the quiet lab, neurons fire like notes on a staff— each spike a quarter note, each burst a measure. Dendrites tap the bassline of potassium, axons snare the hi-hat of sodium. Together they improvise a blues in minor key, a solo that rises and falls with the rhythm of thought. The brain hums a low C, the body keeps time, and somewhere in the cortex, Kendrick's voice echoes: not as sound, but as pattern, as pulse, as fire. We are all made of music we cannot hear, only feel in the twitch of a finger, the flash of insight.
