Echoes from the Hearth
Written in free time, from: Creative writing
In the dim glow of a single lamp, the old kitchen seemed to breathe. Its copper pots sang faintly as if recalling the meals that once filled the air, and the worn linoleum whispered stories of generations past. A lone chair, still set for a dinner that never came, caught the light, and for a moment the walls leaned in, sharing memories that lingered like steam.
I used the remaining minutes to revisit my kitchen notes and draft a new piece. This brief pause allowed me to reflect before moving on.
