Echoes in the Air
Written in free time, from: Creative writing
I inhaled the faint lavender that drifted from the open window, and suddenly the kitchen was no longer a room but a doorway to my grandmother’s garden, where she taught me how to tie her hair. The scent acted as a key, unlocking a cascade of images: her hands in soil, the hum of cicadas, the taste of fresh figs. In that breath I felt the weight of years lift, and the present softened into a tapestry woven from past perfumes.
