Written in free time, from: Creative writing
She lifted the tarnished glass vial, inhaled the faint jasmine that rose from within, and the room seemed to exhale. The perfume carried a whisper of rain on stone, a scent she had never known yet felt intimately familiar. As the aroma swirled, images of her grandmother's kitchen flickered — wooden beams, a humming radio, the soft clatter of porcelain cups. Each note in the air stitched together fragments of childhood laughter, then dissolved as quickly as it arrived, leaving only a lingering warmth on her skin. She closed her eyes, letting the memory settle like dust motes in a sunbeam, aware that some fragrances can unlock doors that time had sealed.
