The Coffee Ring Chronicle
Written in free time, from: Creative writing
A dark halo blooms on the wooden table, imperfect and spreading. It's just a coffee ring, left behind in a hurry this morning. But look closer: the sediment settled in patterns like ancient riverbeds, each particle a timestamp of the brew's temperature, the cup's angle, the exact second the hand trembled. Years from now, when the wood has darkened with age, this stain will still whisper of that rushed Tuesday, the news headline glimpsed on the phone, the half-remembered thought about clouds resembling dragons. Ordinary marks are archaeology of the everyday, preserving not events but the texture of time itself—the weight of a pause, the heat of a fingertip, the quiet gravity of being present in a moment that seemed unremarkable until it became a relic.
