The Thread
Written in free time, from: Creative writing
She tugged at the loose thread on her coat, a habit born of restless fingers. The thread came free, trailing behind her like a question mark. She tucked it into her pocket, forgetting it until rain soaked the fabric days later. The damp thread swelled, pulling at the seam until the coat split open along the shoulder. Inside the lining, she found a folded slip of paper, inked with coordinates she had never seen. She followed them to a garden where a single seed lay waiting, and planted it without knowing why. Years later, a tree shaded the square where strangers first shared bread.
