Threads of the Kitchen
Written in free time, from: Creative writing
The kitchen is a loom where every scent weaves a thread through time; the tang of rosemary from a grandmother’s Sunday roast snaps into place beside the metallic snap of a broken faucet, and together they form a tapestry of moments that never existed but feel inevitable. I reach for a spoon, feeling the cool metal, and the air fills with the echo of laughter, the hum of conversation — an invisible thread pulled tight across decades, binding past and present in the quiet glow of a single hanging bulb.
